Hero Siege Season 10: Best Colossal Chest Maps for Fast XP
Once you unlock the Ready to Pop setup in Hero Siege Season 10, Colossal Chest farming becomes one of the most efficient ways to gain Hero Levels. The strategy is simple: find the chest, trigger the monster spawn, kill the Bloating enemies, collect the experience orbs, and reset the map.
The difficult part is choosing the right zone.
Not every map is equally comfortable for repeated runs, and the difference becomes noticeable when you are doing dozens of resets.
How the Colossal Chest Farm Works
The strategy requires the Ready to Pop node in the Overworld Ether Tree. Current Season 10 guides recommend investing toward this node before starting dedicated Colossal Chest farming. Once the event is available, spawned monsters can appear with the Bloating affix, producing valuable experience orbs when killed.
The basic loop is:
Enter the zone → find the Colossal Chest → trigger it → kill the spawned monsters → collect XP → leave → reset → repeat.
You are not trying to complete the entire map.
Your goal is maximum experience per minute.
- Misty Swamp – Best Overall Choice
For most players, Misty Swamp is the first map I would recommend.
Its layout is relatively easy to navigate, and the Colossal Chest can be reached without spending too much time clearing unrelated enemies. Current Season 10 farming guides specifically identify Misty Swamp as one of the most efficient locations because of its size, layout, and favorable Bloating monster density.
There is also recent community testing suggesting that certain enemies in Misty Swamp can produce particularly strong XP returns, although this should be treated as a current observation rather than a permanent rule.
Verdict: Best starting point for dedicated XP farming.
- Steam Train – Excellent Alternative
Steam Train is another strong option and deserves more attention than it usually gets.
One recent Season 10 farming test specifically recommends Steam Train because the Colossal Chest frequently appears relatively close to waypoints, although its exact position can vary.
The advantage is obvious: less travel means more completed chest cycles.
The downside is that the map layout can sometimes force you to spend additional time searching. If your character has strong mobility, however, Steam Train can be extremely efficient.
Verdict: Excellent alternative, especially for fast-moving builds.
- King’s Garden – Best for Safer Farming
If Misty Swamp feels too dangerous, move to King’s Garden.
It is an earlier area and is generally considered a safer option for characters that have only recently unlocked the Colossal Chest strategy. Mobalytics specifically recommends King’s Garden as the starting location before moving to Misty Swamp.
The experience efficiency may not be as attractive as your best Misty Swamp runs, but survival matters.
A run that takes slightly longer is still better than constantly dying and restarting.
Verdict: Best transition map for undergeared characters.
- Pyramid Level 1 – Backup Option
Pyramid Level 1 can also generate the Colossal Chest event and is included among the commonly recommended farming zones.
It is not necessarily the first map you should choose, but it is useful when you want another location to rotate into.
The main advantage is simply having another viable option when your preferred map produces an inconvenient layout.
Verdict: Reliable backup rather than the default choice.
The Correct Reset Loop
The reset itself is more important than many players realize.
After opening the chest and killing the Bloating pack, do not clear the rest of the map just because you are already there.
If your objective is Hero Level XP, additional monsters usually aren’t worth the travel time.
Return to town or otherwise reset the zone, then enter again and search for the next chest. Current S10 farming guides explicitly recommend repeatedly resetting the zone after completing the chest event.
The faster you restart, the more chest events you can complete per hour.
Discovery Range Makes a Big Difference
After unlocking Ready to Pop, your next priority should be improving the ability to locate Colossal Chests.
Current guides recommend taking the relevant Discovery Range nodes because finding the chest faster directly improves the farming cycle.
This is especially useful on Steam Train, where the chest location can vary.
What Should You Pick Up?
The chest event can provide more than experience.
You can also receive equipment and other useful drops, meaning the farm can contribute to your overall economy while you level.
Use your Loot Filter aggressively enough that low-value items do not interrupt the rotation. If you spend more time sorting inventory than farming, the efficiency of the entire strategy drops.
The extra drops can also help build Hero Siege Gold while you push Hero Levels.
Do You Need Perfect Gear?
No.
You need enough damage to killthe Bloating enemies quickly and enough survivability to complete the event consistently.
If Misty Swamp is too slow or dangerous, step back to King’s Garden rather than forcing it.
Likewise, if you can clear Steam Train faster because of your movement skills, there is no reason to follow someone else’s preferred map blindly.
If you decide to buy Hero Siege Items, prioritize upgrades that improve clear speed, movement, or survivability rather than buying random high-level gear.
For the current Season 10 Colossal Chest farming meta:
- Misty Swamp – Best overall XP farming choice
- Steam Train – Excellent for fast characters
- King’s Garden – Safest option for newer endgame characters
- Pyramid Level 1 – Useful backup
The most important lesson is that the map itself is only half of the strategy.
The real advantage comes from repeating the chest as quickly as possible. Find it, trigger it, destroy the Bloating pack, collect the XP, reset, and start again.
Once you stop treating the zone like a normal map and start treating it like a short farming loop, the difference in Hero Level progression becomes much easier to notice.
